Violated

When so many people have been lying to you
That you can no longer hear the sincerety of a voice
Cannot tell when someone is true
And disregarding him becomes the only possible choice

When so many people have been letting you down and been cruel
That you can no longer see the sincerety of a face
That you immeadiately expect to be played for a fool
And being somewhere else becomes the only possible place

When so many people have had hidden agendas and gone back on their words
That you can no longer feel the sincerety of another
When you’re being overwhelmed by half-forgotten hurts
And running off becomes the only possible reaction when you meet a brother

When so many people have been blind to your humanity because of sex or skin
That you can no longer accomodate the sincerety of another soul
That you have learned to let outwards appearences stop you from letting anybody in
And proving your prejudices to be right becomes the only possible goal

When so many people never tried understand who and what you may be
That you can no longer sense the sincerety in the way someone approaches you
When you become too blinded by the omnipresent indifference to see
That you’ve started to treat the world indifferently too

When you’ve been bent and bruised so badly by inadequacies and half-heartedness
That you can no longer meet the world with a tender smile and an open heart
That you can no longer mean it when your fingers give a sweet caress
And you’ve cut yourself off from giving anything an honest start
